The Prayer of Salvation

As part of your confession, repeat the following prayer aloud:

Dear God, I know without Jesus I am lost, and I don't want to be lost. I want to be saved. I believe Your Word, and Your Word says that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, I will be saved. I am sorry for my sins and I ask You for Your forgiveness. Because I asked, I thank you that I am forgiven. I now invite You into my life and receive You by Faith as my Lord and Savior. I am now a new creature in Christ and a child of God. Thank you for saving me, in Jesus' name, Amen.

Q: Do I need to be baptized?

A: We believe in water baptism by immersion, which is a direct commandment of Jesus and is for Believers only. Baptism does not save you, but is an outward testament of your salvation. (Acts 2:38; Acts 16:33; Matthew 28:19)

Q: Now that I'm saved, what's next?

A: We believe the Bible teaches that without Holiness no man shall see the Lord. The doctrine of Sanctification is a definite, yet progressive work of grace (Hebrews 12:14). You need to become a member of a bible teaching and believing church in order to ensure your growth and development as a believer.

Q: What about speaking in tongues?

A: We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance. (Acts 2:38-39)

Why is Salvation Important?

To be saved is to be rescued from the punishment for our sins (separation from God and eternal agony in hell) and to inherit eternal life. By trusting in Christ for our salvation we instantly pass from eternal death to eternal life and are freed from the power of sin. We are still in the presence of sin while we are on earth, but at the Rapture we will receive our new, glorified, immortal bodies and our salvation will be complete.

We all have a need to be saved because of Adam's sin in the Garden of Eden. [Romans 5:12]

God has a solution for you, and that solution is Jesus Christ. He sent His only begotten Son, that you should not perish, but have everlasting life...if you believe on Jesus. [John 3:16]

What are some of the benefits of Salvation?

1) Promise to honor Faith [Mark 11:22-24]

2) Promise of Divine Healing [1 Peter 2:24], [Matthew 8:17]

3) Forgiveness from Sin [Hebrew 8:12]

4) Ambassadorship [1 Corinthians 5:17-18]

5) Promise of Natural and Material Prosperity [3 John 2]

6) Promise of the Holy Spirit [Acts 1:8]

How do you apply the solution, which is Jesus Christ?

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." [Matthew 1:21]

"And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."[Acts 2:21]

The Bible says in [Romans 10:9-10] that there are two things that you must do in order to be saved:

1. You must confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.

2. You must also believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead.

Others may hear your confession, because you will say an associated prayer, but only you and God will know if you actually believe.

Salvation is a gift, and it is by faith that you receive it, not by feelings. Salvation, as a gift, is free. You do not have to work for it, but you do have to receive it because Jesus cannot be forced on anyone. [Ephesians 2:8-9] "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith --and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast."
